Afkos Industries is a leading manufacturer of hydraulic and exploration products. With increased demand and expanding production, the company is offering opportunities for two or more apprentices to join its team in a modern workshop with excellent facilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to learn hydraulic manufacturing and engineering while building a career in the mechanical trade. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Learn general machining, milling, and turning
- Assist with precision machining jobbing work
- Gain hands-on experience in fitter and machinist duties, including assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic equipment
- Develop proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals
- Use a wide range of tools and equipment with precision and accuracy
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITIERIA
- Ability to pass routine Police Clearance and Drug and Alcohol screening
- Flexibility and willingness to workday and night shifts as required
- Full working rights in Australia
- Current Driver’s Licence (Manual C Class licence highly regarded)
- Current Forklift Licence (or willingness to obtain once employed)
- Minimum grade of C in core high school subjects
- Understanding of workplace WHS requirements
- Self-motivation with a strong desire to learn new skills and knowledge
- Mechanical aptitude
- Sound numeracy skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to think creatively
