Deputy Executive Director of Medical Services (527614) Department of Health Hospitals & Primary Care - Hospitals Nth Launceston General Hospital Applications must be submitted by Sunday 13 July, 2025 11:55 PM Sunday 13 July, 2025 11:55 PM AEST Award/Classification: Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022, Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1-11 Employment type: Full Time Region: North Location: LGH Charles Street, Launceston Assist the Executive Director Medical Services (EDMS) in the coordination, administration and evaluation of Agency wide aspects of Medical Services.Responsible for ensuring that the recruitment, appointment, credentialing and employment of junior medical staff are consistent with legislative and Award provision.Responsible for overseeing the recruitment and workforce planning for junior medical staff, selection and ongoing training requirements (Vocational and pre-vocational).Responsible for overseeing the strategic development and improved partnership and communications with General Practice and the wider community health care providersAct in the position of EDMS as required, in addition to being delegated as required. The Team: TheLauncestonGeneralHospitalisanaccredited450 bedteachinghospitaland is the major referral hospital for Tasmania’s North and North-West. The hospital provides emergency and acute care, specialist services, inpatient and ambulatory care to Launceston and surrounding areas.LauncestonGeneralHospitalisthelargest employer in the region with around 2,300 staff. Itprovidesqualityservicesinacultureofrespectandtrustandhighlevelsofprofessionalismwithafocuson performance and achieving results.Thehospitalfocusesonteamworkwithinthehospitalandwithcommunityproviders. ThehospitalhasacloseworkingpartnershipwiththeUniversityofTasmaniaandworkswithmanyuniversities to provide clinical practice experience for students within different areas of Medicine, Nursing & Midwifery, Allied Health and Pharmacy. TheCliffordCraigFoundationisthecommunityarmofthehospital.Itaimstoimprovethe health of the community through the provision of funding for innovative medical research, education of health professions, funding of medical equipment and patient facilities within the hospital. Its medical research program provides significant benefits for the people of the region. Specialist Medical Practitioners Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata 11.5% superannuation access to salary packaging Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 -$310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 In addition, the following allowances and benefit, calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year Provision ofa fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $28,389 per annum, pro rata Participation in Private Practice Scheme 35% or allowance in lieu of private practice schemes 35% Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. Professional development and accelerated pathways. A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.
