In this role, you will focus on SQL development, data modelling, and engineering robust pipelines to enable cutting-edge systems that support smarter, faster decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimise SQL databases, views, stored procedures, and functions. Collaborate with analysts to model data that is clean, accurate, and reporting-ready. Develop dynamic SQL solutions for flexible and reusable data workflows. Build, manage, and optimise data pipelines and lakehouses within Microsoft Fabric. Create metadata-driven ETL/ELT pipelines to handle diverse data sources and ensure scalability. Use Spark (Scala), Spark SQL, and Python for advanced data transformations. Prepare trusted datasets and semantic models for Power BI dashboards and analytics. Partner with analysts and stakeholders to ensure data aligns with business objectives. Monitor and enhance the performance of Fabric pipelines and datasets. Implement and document data security, quality, and governance best practices. Key Requirements: Tertiary education, or relevant industry qualifications. Proven experience as an SQL Developer with expertise in relational database design and dynamic SQL. Strong background in data engineering, including building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines. Experience with Azure Data Factory / Microsoft Fabric / Synapse. Proficiency in Spark (Scala), Spark SQL, and Python for scalable data transformations. Familiarity with PowerShell for automating data pipeline tasks. Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for data solutions using Azure DevOps. Solid understanding of data modelling, data quality, and governance principles. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in managing large data sets. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
