Overview
Mayday is partnering with a respected organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a Senior Funeral Consultant based in Geelong. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, highly organised, and service-driven, with the ability to support families through sensitive and meaningful moments while coordinating and delivering professional funeral services.
Responsibilities
* Meeting with families to arrange and coordinate funeral services in line with their wishes
* Conducting and overseeing funeral services with professionalism and respect
* Providing exceptional customer service to families, clients, and internal stakeholders
* Supporting day-to-day operations at the Geelong location
* Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and quality standards
* Assisting with preparation, coordination, and service delivery as required
* Contributing to a team-oriented and respectful team environment
* Supporting health, safety, and wellbeing standards in the workplace
* Must be open to participating in a 1 in 6 weekend on-call roster
About You
Essential:
* Experience in a service-focused environment or ability to quickly learn
* Current unrestricted driver's licence
* Comfortable working in circumstances involving death, grief, and deceased persons
* Strong communication skills with a calm, empathetic approach
* High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
* Sensitivity and respect for diverse values, beliefs, and cultural practices
* Physically and psychologically fit to manage manual handling, stress, and inherent role requirements
* Willingness to participate in a 1 in 6 weekend on-call roster
Desirable:
* Exposure to or understanding of the funeral services industry, or willingness to learn
* Background in hospitality, retail, community services, or other people-focused industries
