We are looking for a Mental Health Clinician to join our Family and Domestic sexual violence and Mental Health team at Geraldton on permanent full-time basis.
Mental Health Clinicians provide specialist, trauma-informed mental health treatment (MHT) to individuals and families impacted by complex psychosocial needs, family and domestic sexual violence (FDSV), and other mental health challenges. Working within their professional scope of practice, clinicians such as psychologists, mental health nurses, social workers, counsellors and other qualified practitioners deliver evidence-informed therapeutic interventions designed to support safety, wellbeing, recovery and resilience.
In this role, clinicians conduct staged and trauma-informed mental health assessments, collaborating closely with clients to develop, implement and regularly review client-led care plans. They hold responsibility for the ongoing assessment, monitoring and management of mental health risk in partnership with the local care team (LCT) and the broader multidisciplinary workforce. Clinicians actively participate in clinical supervision, reflective practice and professional development to ensure continual growth of therapeutic skills and maintenance of best-practice standards.
The position requires a strong commitment to cultural safety, child safety, privacy and legislated information-sharing requirements. Clinicians are responsible for maintaining timely, accurate and compliant clinical documentation and data entry to support service quality, governance and continuity of care.
What are we looking for
* Full Registration as a Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse, Mental Health credentialled Social Worker, Mental Health Occupational Therapist – AASW or AHPRA.
* High level of written communication skills particularly in the development of quality mental health care plans, case notes and report writing.
* Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, to effectively liaise, consult and negotiate with a wide variety of people including patients, GP's, Psychiatrists, allied health staff and other stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and individually with minimum supervision.
* Demonstrated experience in and understanding the principles of confidentiality, particularly in relation to the handling of patient information.
* Demonstrated experience.
* Demonstrated understanding and ability to formulate and utilise outcome measurement tools.
* Sound computer skills with proficiency in using Microsoft office software and windows operating systems together with skills in use of Lumary or a willingness to learn.
Compliance requirements
* Current driving licence and ability to travel.
* National Police Check dated within 6 months or willingness to obtain.
* Working with Children Check.
