**Role Responsibilities**:
- Deliver drainage maintenance services by providing physical labour and operating mechanical plant for construction and maintenance.
- Conduct inspections, repairs, and cleaning of pits and drainage lines.
- Perform concrete and asphalt works, including breaking out, spreading and compaction of crushed rock, and loading/unloading of goods and materials.
- Undertake general cleansing duties, work on nature strips, and remove tree roots.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of inspections, maintenance, and investigations.
- Display excellent customer relations by liaising with stakeholders, including the general community, residents, contractors, and public authorities.
- Perform administrative tasks such as recording measurements, performance data, and completion of drainage works.
- Ensure all plant, equipment, and tools are kept safe, clean, and in good condition.
- Comply with OH&S requirements, including traffic control, setting out signs and traffic management devices, and adhering to the Roadwork Signing Code of Practice.
- Provide additional support and services as directed by the Coordinator Drainage and Cleansing.
- Drive vehicles with a heavy rigid license.
- Be available for "on-call" duties for emergency works approximately one week per month.
- Work collaboratively within the team and support departmental works.
**Role Requirements**:
- Victorian driver's license with a heavy rigid truck endorsement (desirable).
- Experience driving a heavy truck (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in operating a range of mechanical plant.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with the general public, clients, engineers, tradesmen, and council officers.
- Experience in drainage and plumbing maintenance.
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of the position (pre-employment medical required).
- Ability to read and interpret information from plans and council standard drawings.
- Good knowledge of OH&S requirements related to infrastructure services operations and public open spaces.
- Willingness to provide a current National Police Records Check and Employee Working with Children Check (to support a child-safe organization).
- Plumbing qualification (desirable). Experience using CCTV equipment for drainage investigations (desirable).
- Competent computer skills, including the use of asset management reporting systems.
- Knowledge and skill in operating CCTV equipment and radio frequency locating and tracing equipment.
