Product Compliance
We are seeking an experienced Legal Consultant to act as a Product Compliance Lead supporting on a part‐time basis (1–2 days per week). This role is ideal for a mid‐level to senior Legal & Compliance professional who enjoys working at the intersection of regulation, product, and long‐term market strategy, and who is comfortable operating in a fast‐moving, commercial environment.
The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for providing practical, forward‐looking compliance advice to ensure products and commercial initiatives meet applicable regulatory requirements, while also supporting broader business and market objectives.
You will work closely with cross‐functional stakeholders (including product, legal, commercial and leadership teams) to align regulatory compliance with long‐term market and product strategy, particularly within the Australian market.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted compliance advisor on product‐related regulatory matters, with a strong focus on the Australian regulatory landscape.
* Monitor, interpret and advise on relevant laws, regulations and regulatory guidance impacting products and go‐to‐market strategies.
* Engage with regulators and industry bodies as required, including responding to regulatory enquiries.
* Support product and commercial teams to embed compliance considerations into product design, digital merchandising and market launches.
* Translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for non‐legal stakeholders.
* Contribute to the development of long‐term market and compliance strategies, balancing regulatory risk with commercial opportunity.
About You
* Proven experience in product compliance, regulatory, or legal advisory roles, ideally with exposure to the Australian market.
* Experience dealing with regulators and regulatory frameworks at a practical, hands‐on level.
* Ability to operate at both a strategic and executional level, aligning compliance requirements with broader business and market strategy.
* Strong commercial mindset and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice in a fast‐paced environment.
* Experience in technology, retail, fashion, or digital merchandising sectors is highly regarded.
* Comfortable working in a part‐time or fractional capacity, with flexibility around days and workload.
