Unique, part-time opportunity to work with a large cancer care provider in radiation therapy within our Adelaide metro Oncology clinics, working ideally Thursdays and Fridays.
You will provide expert clinical care, education and support the delivery of an exceptional patient experience by responding to patient needs as part of a multidisciplinary team. If you are wanting to progress your oncology nursing career and work with an integrated cancer care provider we would like to hear from you.
More specifically you will:
Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met whilst undergoing cancer treatment.
Provide education and support for patients.
Deliver cancer treatment and supportive medication administration as per prescribed protocols .
Effectively manage nursing patient load.
Facilitate effective lines of communication with medical officers, patient services staff and other members of the nursing team .
Provide patient feedback to the team.
Ensure all patient listed events are documented, communicated, and actioned.
Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice medical oncology nursing standards.
Establish communication for allied health services using ISBAR communication tool to all allied health services along with supported documented evidence.
Comply with patient handover procedures as per ISBAR communication tool.
Support the clinical introduction of new medications / drugs and nursing products by demonstrating knowledge and application in the patient care setting.
Be part of a fluid roster where RNs are required to work at all sites across Adelaide
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Current AHPRA registration.
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS.
Strong commitment to quality patient care.
Interest in continuing your professional development.
Ability to use electronic clinical administration systems.
