About The Role

The Australian School of the Arts (ASTA) at Sheldon College is a state‐of‐the‐art program that includes the ASTA Academy Programs and the audition‐based 'Professionals' Arts Excellence Program. These programs cater for students from Preparatory to Year 12 across all facets of Arts Education, with over 1000 students enrolled.

The Drama Academy forms part of our co‐curricular program and provides students with high‐quality training and performance opportunities in drama and musical theatre.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Coordinator - Drama Academy to provide creative and operational leadership of the College's Drama Academy. This role oversees the planning, delivery and evaluation of high‐quality drama and musical theatre programs and productions. You will lead tutors and production staff, direct the Junior Production (Years 3-5), coordinate major performances including contributions to the Arts Festival, and continue to develop our integrated Year 6‐8 Musical Theatre program.

This Is a Casual Position, Typically Rostered Across
* Monday to Wednesday: 1.00pm - 5.00pm
* Thursday: 7.00am - 10.00am and 2.30pm - 4.30pm

Some weekend work will be required for rehearsals (approximately six per year), as well as participation in the Arts Festival week in Term 4.

About You

You are an experienced performing arts leader with strong artistic vision and the ability to manage both people and productions confidently.

You Will Demonstrate
* Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications
* Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration or Blue Card eligibility
* Demonstrated experience directing or leading school or youth productions
* Experience leading or managing staff in an educational or performing arts context
* Strong organisation and project management skills
* The ability to manage multiple productions concurrently
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Operational attention to detail
* Capacity to work effectively in a dynamic, deadline‐driven school environment
* Competence in Microsoft Office 365 and digital platforms

Experience coordinating multi‐faceted performing arts programs and delivering integrated Musical Theatre programs will be highly regarded.
