The Role: "Creating a Project Enablement Office" Reporting directly to the Senior Leader Corporate Planning and Strategy, the Team Leader - Project Management Office will see you leading a team of 3 Project Management Officers and an Administrative officer. Projects undertaken by the team are enterprise-wide, to support and enable project management staff in the delivery of a variety of projects from IT and operational initiatives to construction and city infrastructure improvements, through robust project governance, planning, monitoring and reporting frameworks. The primary objective is to establish an effective PMO and PMO framework that strengthens the organisation's capacity to effectively deliver projects. This includes systemising processes to consistently assess project feasibility, scoring and prioritisation with a clear methodology and criteria. Key Responsibilities Establish the Project Management Office and shape enterprise-wide collaboration in project management practice, governance and excellence. Build, maintain and improve Council's Project Management Framework, tools, and templates. Coordinate Council's project portfolio and deliver transparent reporting to leadership. Build project management capability through training and coaching. Partner with Finance to align project data with financial systems. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in project delivery and governance. Engage stakeholders and represent PMO in internal and external forums. About You As a leader, you'll bring a collaborative, solutions-focused approach to help build and strengthen the PMO framework as well as the team utilising it. You'll be a broad thinker who can also focus on enablement, the setting of metrics and milestones. A background in local government is not essential, but preferable.
