Kambu Health clinic has been in operation for 48 plus years with strong community engagement and is well supported by Nursing and Aboriginal Health staff. We are seeking dedicated and experienced General Practitioners to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care, possess excellent clinical skills, and be enthusiastic about working in a collaborative environment, and with First Nation peoples and communities.
715 Health Check is utilised at Kambu Health as a vital tool improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We prioritise early detection and management of health conditions, promoting a holistic approach to health, and contributing to closing the gap is our priority. All General Practitioners have the option to attend local schools to conduct 715 Health Check’s.

About the role
Full Time or Part Time
12-month Fixed Term Contract
The General Practitioner provides high-quality, patient-centered primary healthcare services to the community, with a focus on prevention, early intervention, and continuity of care. This role involves diagnosing and managing a broad range of health conditions, referring patients to specialists as needed, and contributing to the overall wellbeing of patients through culturally sensitive and holistic care.
About the successful applicant
To be successful in this role, you will:
Demonstrate excellent clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills
Have experience working in general practice, preferably within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities or rural health settings
Hold current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner, FRACGP or equivalent

4 Hours administrative time per weekfor full time employees
1 hour Health Check appointments includingSupport from Aboriginal Health Workers and Nursing Staff
