Role
Kaplan Higher Education - Murdoch College is seeking a University Lecturer in the areas of English language teaching, critical thinking and research methodology. The role involves designing and delivering curriculum, assessing student progress, providing guidance, mentoring and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. These positions are integral to preparing students with the necessary academic, critical thinking and language skills to thrive in an undergraduate curriculum.
Responsibilities
* Prepare, deliver and coordinate high quality courses in the appointee's area of expertise at both the pre-Master's and undergraduate level, plus demonstrate an interest and ability to teach in other areas across the College
* In collaboration with the Director, Learning and Teaching, develop course materials in collaboration with other academic team members
* Support the Director, Learning and Teaching in the recruitment, induction management and professional development of members of the academic team
* Engage in and lead professional development activities for the whole of the academic staff to ensure continuous development
* Support the Director, Learning and Teaching in moderating and finalising grades and assessments
* Support the Director, Learning and Teaching in fostering positive and productive student/teacher relationships
* Ensure attendance records are completed each week for each unit
* Assist in the delivery of Student Experience in Learning and Teaching (SELT) surveys
Requirements
* Doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline
* Understanding of legislation and regulations governing higher education
* Ability to consistently interpret and apply policy
* Excellent organisational skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Excellent computer literacy
* Working with Children Check
* Demonstrated background in professional development endeavours
Annual Salary Range
$80,000 - $90,000 + super
