The IT Operations Officer provides advanced technical support and operational leadership across a complex and integrated IT/OT environment. Acting as the primary on-site IT presence, the role ensures reliability, security, and performance of critical systems that support business and operational activities.
In this role, you work closely with the Corporate IT team and the Managed Service Provider (MSP) to coordinate escalations, manage incident resolution, and support continuity of service across site operations. You maintain secure, resilient infrastructure aligned with enterprise standards across IT, OT, and IoT environments, support a broad technology landscape—including cloud and on‐premise infrastructure, networks, end‐user computing, enterprise applications, and operational technologies—and contribute to strengthening cyber‐security practices and continuous improvement.
About You:
We are seeking a hands‐on and experienced IT Operations professional who can thrive in a dynamic, site-based environment and confidently support a broad range of technologies.
You will bring:
* Strong experience in IT Operations or technical support roles within complex environments
* Proven capability using service management tools to manage incidents, requests, and escalations
* Experience supporting both on‐premise and cloud/web‐based applications
* Strong technical expertise across Microsoft technologies and enterprise IT environments
* Broad infrastructure knowledge including networks, servers, storage, virtualisation, and end‐user systems
* Exposure to OT environments such as SCADA, PLCs, IoT systems, CCTV, and site communications technologies
* A solid understanding of cyber security principles, including identity, access management, network security, and endpoint protection
Highly regarded:
* Experience within the mining or resources sector, particularly in FIFO or remote site environments
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
* Exposure to IoT platforms, sensors, and integration technologies
* Experience working within structured project delivery frameworks (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, PMBOK)
* Industry certifications such as ITIL, Cisco (CCNA), Microsoft, or cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP)
