Wodonga South Primary School is integrated with Southern Rise Children's Centre and operates as the Southern Rise Education Centre. The school currently enrolls 477 students in 19 class groupings: 2 Foundation classes, 5 1/2s, 5 Year 3/4s and 6 Year 5/6s. Classroom programs are supported by specialist teachers in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Auslan and Physical Education.
The school maintains a strong relationship with the Southern Rise Children's Centre, offering Maternal and Child Health, Long Day Care, Play groups and Preschool Programs for 3‐ and 4‐year‐olds. Communication and transition between Preschool and school are well supported.
There is a focus on inclusion, differentiation and a School Wide Positive Behaviour Support program that guides the entire school community.

Role
An education support class position at this range will perform tasks in accordance with school policies and guidelines under supervision. Duties may include coordination of support staff, assisting teachers, and providing specialised support where required and where suitable qualifications exist.
Responsibilities
* Provide routine support for teachers including assistance with planning and student routines.
* Support communication between teachers and parents.
* Communicate with teachers on routine matters related to students and other responsibilities.
* Provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students (toileting, meals, lifting).
* Assist students in comprehending basic tasks and information.
* Address immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting as per school policy.
* Provide basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting.
* Support teachers in coordinating educational programs independently or under minimal supervision, including rostering and organising the work of aides, guiding other student support staff, liaising with external support providers, and communicating student outcomes.
* Provide medical intervention support to students where conditions allow and training is available.
* Deliver specialised communication support for students and teachers in areas such as Auslan and braille.

This vacancy is linked to Student Support Funding and is ongoing. If the funding ceases during the first seven years of employment, employment may cease subject to a 12‐week notice period.
