Job Summary:
* We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Modeller to join our dynamic Data Engineering team.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in data modelling and will play a crucial role in designing and implementing data models that support our business objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, and data governance.
Responsibilities:
* Design and develop comprehensive data models that meet business requirements and enhance data quality.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze data requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
* Implement best practices for data modelling, including normalization, denormalization, and data lineage.
* Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure seamless integration of data models into the data pipeline.
* Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and recommend solutions.
* Document data models, data flows, and metadata to ensure clarity and maintainability.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data modelling team members.
* Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data modelling and data engineering.
Mandatory Skills:
* Proven expertise in data modelling techniques and methodologies.
* Strong experience with data warehousing concepts and tools.
* Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
* Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
* Strong experience with Data Vault.
* Ability to translate complex business requirements into effective data models.
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
* Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
* Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
* Experience with ETL processes and tools.
* Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in data modelling.
