Assistant Store Manager (2IC) at Petstock Indooroopilly – support the Store Manager in leading a passionate team to deliver world‐class customer service and drive the success of the Petstock Group.
Responsibilities
* Lead by example, mentoring and inspiring the team daily.
* Support the Store Manager in coaching the team to achieve and develop their knowledge and skills.
* Lead from the front by consistently providing an exceptional customer experience.
* Create a strong safety mindset and foster a culture of safety within the team.
* Assist the Store Manager in managing stock effectively, ensuring accuracy and adherence to stock integrity processes.
* Support visual merchandising of stock displays, ensuring VM standards are consistently maintained.
* Demonstrate initiative by staying up to date on pet care, products, and services.
* Recruit, onboard, and induct high‐calibre new team members.
* Create a fun, supportive in‐store culture where the team loves coming to work each day.
* Actively support local marketing opportunities and sponsorships.
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar store leadership role or a strong desire to progress into retail management.
* Demonstrated drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
* Strong leadership ability to motivate and build high‐performing teams while fostering a positive culture.
* Strong priority‐setting and time‐management skills, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
* Proven ability to drive safe work, health & safety practices.
* Established business acumen.
* Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments.
* Strong interpersonal skills, building relationships and rapport with customers and the wider team.
