The opportunity
As a Senior Safety Advisor (fixed‐term, 24‐month) you will help maintain a safe, reliable and cost‐effective transmission network across Gladstone, Biloela and Rockhampton regions. You will provide practical, solutions‐focused safety support to construction, operations and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting risk management.
Responsibilities
* Partner closely with frontline teams and leaders to embed effective safety practices into day‐to‐day operations.
* Provide advice on legislative compliance and risk management, support the application of safety systems and controls, and ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently.
* Maintain a strong field presence, proactively identify hazards, support risk mitigation, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
* Participate in audit and assurance activities, support incident responses and event learning, and help develop safety systems and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree‐level qualification in safety studies or equivalent experience with significant practical experience.
* Formal internal audit qualifications (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001) and experience delivering HSE audits.
* Certificate IV or above in environmental or safety studies.
* Experience supporting construction, infrastructure or operational environments with solid knowledge of safety legislation, risk management and safety systems.
* Strong communication skills, ability to build relationships, influence others, manage competing priorities and deliver high‐quality outcomes.
