About the role
In this role, you will deliver mental health assessment, mental health service and brief intervention through home visits/outreach or virtual care services. You will operate within a bio‐psychosocial cultural approach and provide care navigation to children, young people, and their families to improve mental health, social and emotional well‐being. This is a shift work role, including weekdays 0800 – 1630 or 1200 – 2030 shifts and some Saturdays/Public Holidays 0900 – 1730 shifts.

* Remuneration: $40.57 – $69.84 per hour (dependent on qualifications) + superannuation + salary packaging

Where you'll be working
Join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Response Team (Safeguards) – a compassionate, family‐centred service with support from leaders/clinicians at the Wallsend Hub and other spoke sites across the district. Safeguards is a multidisciplinary, community‐based team providing short‐term (up to six weeks) assessment and intervention for children and adolescents experiencing mental distress. We value the lived experience perspective, recovery‐oriented and trauma‐informed care, grounded in hope, choice, self‐determination, and social connection.

Requirements
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications and professional registration/membership as applicable.
* Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Clinical Psychology, Psychology, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health, Djirruwang Program), Occupational Therapy, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
* For Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2: Relevant post‐registration qualifications and at least three years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post‐graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
