Your new role as a Boilermaker will report to the Workshop Supervisor in a permanent residential position based at KCGM mine site in Kalgoorlie.
The Boilermaker is responsible for scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs to Caterpillar fleets, completing service reports, identifying parts requirements, and maintaining safe work practices and a safe work environment.
WesTrac KCGM, in partnership with Northern Star, maintains a large fleet of machines through scheduled servicing, planned shutdowns, and in-pit repairs to support Northern Star mining operations. Our onsite team excels in mobile workshop and on-site repairs.
Roster: 7 days, 3 off, 7 nights, 4 off – 12hrs/day (including 30 minutes meal break)
What You'll Do:
- Fabricate and repair structural steel and equipment components according to customer and WesTrac specifications.
- Read and interpret schematics and specifications accurately, sourcing technical information from manuals, bulletins, and internal systems.
- Manage and advise on appropriate tooling for service.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Work as a dynamic team player with a strong commitment to safety.
- Liaise effectively with site/local clients regarding their requirements.
Skills & Experience:
- Australian recognised Boilermaker or Fabrication Trade Certificate (essential)
- Heavy-Rigid Licence (essential)
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding techniques
- Experience working on large mining machinery or heavy fabrication
