Responsibilities
Casual Client Support Workers are sought to work in our supported youth accommodation service for homeless young people aged 15-25 years.
As a Client Support Worker, you will:
* Work in a trauma-informed way to maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and safe space for diverse young people, including cultural safety for Aboriginal young people.
* Engage and support young people to build confidence using a strengths-based, youth participation approach.
* Foster the development of young people's life skills to support their goals towards independence and exiting the service, through individual support and group programs.
* Assess and manage risk and complete accurate case notes.
* Respond effectively to any crisis situations that may arise.
Qualifications
* Qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services, or similar.
* Experience working with young people with complex needs in a trauma-informed way.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, facilitate groups, and work effectively with young people and stakeholders.
* Reliability to work autonomously within legislative and organizational policies.
* Knowledge or experience in developing risk and case management plans, reviews, and documentation.
