Job Title: Livestock Operations Manager
The Gippsland Regional Livestock Exchange seeks a highly experienced and motivated Livestock Operations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, supervising staff, responding to biosecurity events, and maintaining a safe workplace.
* Strong experience in cattle handling, droving, drafting, and processing, as well as leading and training staff, adhering to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and managing resources effectively.
* Expertise in livestock saleyard software systems, sales processing, and reporting, including scales operation, is also essential.
* The ability to develop and review saleyard procedures and practices, including maintenance, will contribute to the success of this role.
* Effective communication skills and the capacity to positively represent the exchange to stakeholders, including livestock transporters, agents, vendors, and buyers.
* Practical knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice within the livestock industry, including NLIS database and animal welfare.
