NORTHSIX is partnering with a fast-growing, privately owned logistics business to find their next Finance Manager.
After rapid growth over the past 12 months, our client is moving into its next phase of structured scale - More revenue, more sites, and a finance function that needs to grow with it. You'd be the one to build that within the team.
The role
Working closely with the Managing Director and leadership team, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end finance function across a complex, multi-entity operation. Strategic partnering and hands-on delivery in equal measure: forward-looking financial insight one minute, day-to-day operations the next, all within a fast-paced transport and logistics environment. You'll establish aligned systems and processes, embed strong financial controls, and build a cohesive finance team from the ground up.
What you'll own
* Financial control: monthly management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and rolling cash flow management
* Oversight of bookkeeping functions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger integrity
* Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team
* Supporting acquisition integration and standardising processes across multiple sites
* Preparing board reporting, executive packs and financial insights for senior leadership
* End-to-end payroll management, including compliance with awards, superannuation, PAYG, and payroll tax
* Partnering with operations to improve fleet utilisation and route profitability
* Driving continuous improvement of finance systems, reporting tools and internal processes
* Pricing and contract profitability analysis
* Oversight of WIP, inventory valuation, and cost allocation
* Ensuring compliance across AASB, tax, payroll tax, BAS/IAS, WorkCover and multi-state requirements
* Developing and maintaining internal financial controls, policies, and procedures
Your experience
* CA/CPA qualified (highly preferred)
* 8+ years in finance, with at least 3+ years in a Finance Manager or senior finance role
* Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and deliver commercially focused insights
* Strong hands‐on experience with bookkeeping and payroll
* Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and compliance requirements
* High accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability
* A confident communicator who works well with operational and leadership teams
