East Wanneroo Primary School is an independent public school located in the northern suburbs of Perth. Nestled amongst gum trees and extensive, native flora, the school provides a beautiful, natural setting for local families, it has a country feel in a city setting. Being an older style school, our grounds are spacious with dedicated play areas for each year level. The space carries through to the classrooms, where most classes have an additional room for students to spread out. The Role
as a Gardener/Handyperson, you would be a key member of our team. You'll be instrumental in maintaining the school grounds, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to a positive environment for students and staff. From overseeing the turf areas, garden beds and shrubs to managing hard landscaping features like courts and paving, you'll play a vital role in creating an inviting and inspiring outdoor space.
Your commitment to maintaining gardening facilities, equipment, and tools in a good condition will be important in promoting a positive culture within the school. You will be required to perform minor repairs and maintenance in accordance with the Department’s policies and guidelines.
The successful applicant should display effective communication skills, be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff and external stakeholders and be able to work unsupervised, with the ability to identify and recognise work that is required to be completed. You should also be well organised, have attention to detail, a positive outlook and be a team player.
