About the role:
This 8-month contract (with potential extension) is part-time (22.8 hours/week or 0.6 FTE) with flexible arrangements. Reporting to the CEO, you will manage financial systems, payroll, and project reporting.
Key responsibilities:
1. Managing financial systems for efficiency and compliance
2. Financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting for decision-making
3. Adhering to financial policies
4. Maintaining chart of accounts
5. Overseeing audits and compliance, including grant reporting
6. Processing monthly payroll for 70+ staff across multiple systems
7. Managing an Accounts Officer and supporting staff development
8. Preparing monthly financials, GST, tax, and BAS
9. Completing payroll tax lodgements, superannuation, and reporting
About you:
You are passionate about our purpose, collaborative, proactive, and driven.
Required skills and experience:
* Accounting degree, CPA or CA qualification, or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of Australian accounting standards
* Proficiency with major accounting software
* Experience in financial management and budgeting
* Payroll processing experience
* Understanding of payroll regulations including tax and superannuation
* Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Strong computer skills, including Excel and Word
Desirable:
* Experience in business planning, international development, or international business
* Project accounting experience
* Knowledge of New Zealand or Fiji payroll requirements
