Job Title
We are seeking a dedicated Child and Family Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality casework support and supervision to children and young people in family-based care arrangements.
About the Role
* This is a permanent full-time position based in Hobart, Tasmania.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child-focused casework practice and experience working with government agencies, children, families, carers, and stakeholders. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with carers and work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake child-focused casework practice in partnership with government agencies, children, families, carers, and stakeholders.
* Work with carers to understand the impact of trauma, loss, neglect, and abuse on children and young people.
* Apply the CARE model to enable children to learn trust, life skills, form relationships, and gain resilience.
* Build and strengthen carer skills to support children and young people in decision-making and fulfilling their potential.
* Perform case management functions as prescribed in specific contracts or funding agreements.
Requirements
* Recognised Social Work qualifications with eligibility for membership of the AASW and/or a Bachelor of Psychology or other relevant qualification.
* Significant experience in the child protection and out-of-home care sector.
* Demonstrated experience working with individuals, families, and communities from a strength-based, culturally appropriate perspective.
* Demonstrated experience identifying individual strengths and areas for improvement within the context of providing foster care with an emphasis on permanency for children in care.
* Demonstrated experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
