Position Details
This permanent position is accountable to the Underground Manager and is offered on an 8 days on/6 days off FIFO basis from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Role Purpose
Assist in the coordination of production activities to execute the short‐term schedule. Production engineers report to and liaise with the Senior Production Engineers and Underground Managers in order to facilitate the achievement of production targets relating to stope ore movement and drilling activities.
Accountabilities
* Be active in your approach to safety and in line with the company values, policies and procedures
* Deliver compliance with SHE&C plans, management systems and processes within the drill and blast team
* Deliver production drill designs and plans aligned with Short Term Plans
* Coordinate blast preparation and charge plans
* Engage with production drill operators and charge up crews to ensure clear communication of plans and escalation of challenges
* Drive continuous improvements through reconciliation reviews of performance in drill and blast activities
* Liaise with production foreman to drive efficiencies throughout the production cycle
About You

* A degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline, and prior experience in underground mining
* Completion of all relevant required practical experience for attaining a WA First Class Mine Manager's certificate of competency
* Competence in at least one general mining package (e.g. Deswik, Vulcan, Datamine); Deswik proficiency desired
* A good understanding of an underground mining operation and all aspects of stope design
* Inclusive interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with cross‐functional teams
* Effective time management, decision making and report writing
* Existing permanent working rights in Australia
