The Opportunity: Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a
Shift Fitter
in the Blast Furnace maintenance team based in Port Kembla. You will join a cross-functional team that provides maintenance support to the No.5 and No.6 Blast Furnace units, ensuring equipment is maintained to high standards to meet quality and reliability objectives. This is a shift position that also includes a shift relief component. You will initially work a 12-hour, 24x7 rotating roster (days and nights, Monday to Sunday) to support the No.6 Blast Furnace until mid-2026; hours/shift may change after completion.
Responsibilities
Isolate equipment and perform maintenance and repairs
Inspect quality-critical equipment and fault find
Resolve issues and fix non-conformances
Seek ways to continuously improve maintenance strategies
Provide supply, stock and purchase requisitions, schedules, work orders, and parts listings via the computerised maintenance management system (SAP)
Qualifications
Mechanical trade qualification
Experience within a maintenance function
Experience working both independently and as part of a manufacturing team
Strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
A commitment to personal safety and wellbeing and care for others
