Australian International Academy of Education Inc. (AIAE Inc./ AIA) established in 1983 is an independent, progressive, co‑educational school with four campuses in Melbourne. The Academy offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes and the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). Duties
* Presenting prescribed curriculum using a range of teaching techniques and materials
* Developing students' interests, abilities and coordination through creative activities
* Guiding discussions and supervising work in class
* Preparing, administering and marking tests, projects and assignments to evaluate students' progress and recording the results
* Discussing individual progress and problems with students and parents, and seeking advice from Student Counsellors and senior teachers
* Maintaining discipline in classrooms and other school areas
* Participating in staff meetings, educational conferences and workshops
* Liaising with parent, community and business groups
* Maintaining class and scholastic records
* Performing extra‑curricular tasks such as assisting with sport, school concerts, excursions and special interest programmes
* Supervising student teachers on placement
Requirements
* Minimum 1 year post‑qualification experience as a secondary school teacher
* Bachelor of Education or higher, or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education
* VIT Registration
The incumbent must comply with AIA's child safety policies and related policies and procedures (including the Code of Conduct) and conduct themselves in accordance with the commitment to promote the safety of children.
