Medical Receptionist/Administration assistant
A well-established Haematology Specialist Medical Service in Wollongong has a vacancy for a receptionist/office administrator to coordinate the service in a busy setting.
We are seeking a passionate and committed Practice Coordinator to join our busy clinic in Wollongong on a part-time or full-time basis, working between the hours 8.30 am–6 pm, Monday to Friday.
Main responsibilities
* Oversee and lead day-to-day practice operations
* Coordinate all facets of reception duties
* Maintain efficient appointment scheduling, billing, Eftpos collection and patient accounts
* Ensure staff are supported fully to perform their duties
* Monitor the practice's progress in meeting the Department of Health standards
* Maintain awareness of Department of Health and IPCCC policies and procedures
* Work under the directives of the senior Medical Doctor or his delegate
* Attend and organise relevant meetings
* Oversee preparation for Clinics
* Liaise with specialists
* Obtain results and manage their filing
* Perform occasional medical typing
Skills and qualifications
* Experience working in specialist practice preferred
* Proficiency in use of medical software is essential
* Sound knowledge and ability with Medicare, DVA and Private Health billing, Eftpos and cash accounting
* Ability to communicate and work under the directives of the senior Medical Doctor or his delegate
* Knowledge and experience with accreditation process to meet the Department of Health standards is preferred
* Professional telephone manner
* High level of organisation/time management skills with attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously and remain focused in a fast-paced environment
* Discretion, tact and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people
* Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software
* Strong oral and written communication skills, including minuting meetings
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Health and safety knowledge
