Make a Real Difference Where It Matters Most - Join Us as a Child Safety Officer
About the Role
As a Child Safety Officer, you'll be at the heart of one of the most important roles in our community - protecting children and young people from harm and helping families build safer and stronger futures. We have opportunities available across both Child Safety and Out of Home Care, giving you the chance to contribute where your strengths and passion align. Whether you are supporting children and young people through statutory casework or working alongside carers and service partners to create safe, nurturing placements, your work will directly shape brighter futures for some of Tasmania's most vulnerable children.
Hobart and the South of the State offer a dynamic practice environment with a diverse caseload and strong professional networks, giving you the support and structure needed to grow and thrive in your role.
What we are Looking For
* A genuine passion for working with children, young people, and their families.
* Knowledge of and/or experience in assessment and casework intervention with individuals and families who have complex needs, and knowledge of theoretical perspectives that relate to child protection practice and the ability to apply this in a service delivery context.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles, remain calm, manage conflict, and build effective relationships with stakeholders, families, and young people both in person and over the phone.
* A commitment to continuous learning, professional reflection and self-care.
* Individual resilience, emotional intelligence, and a high level of integrity.
For more information about selection criteria, qualifications and eligibility requirements, please refer to the Statement of Duties.

* Flexible working options - We support balance. Talk to us about flexible arrangements that help you thrive at work and at home.
* Professional development from day one - Practice training, ongoing supervision, and clear pathways for career progression.
