Head of Drafting - Industry Leading Product & Huge Growth Plans

You're organised and great at allocating resources, putting in structure & calming people down. You're also not scared to chase people for information, follow up/hassle the people you need for documentation & you're great at creating accountability amongst teams.
This role is Head of Detailing for M3S (the parent company behind APTUS Systems and Novus Precast). You will lead and scale their precast detailing/drafting function as the business expands nationally and internationally.
The team currently sits at around 12 drafters and the goal is to double that over the next 12–18 months. That growth needs the right person leading it.
You don't need to personally know how to do the drafting - because your number one job is to:
"Be the holder of the umbrella that stops the s*#t raining down on the detailers/drafters."
The products they use are first to market globally, and it's amazing what they can build. With those capabilities comes a lot of chaos. Each job is incredibly custom with a huge number of moving parts and drafters who are distracted/overwhelmed/stressed lose a lot of production. So it's your job to handle the chaos and protect them from it, so they can focus on what they do best - getting out the drawings.
You'll be:
* Managing 20+ live projects at once, all moving at different speeds with constantly changing construction programs.
* Filtering information coming from builders, PMs and clients
* Making sure the team actually has the information they need
* Managing difficult conversations and expectations externally
* Allocating resources properly so workloads stay balanced
* Debugging stalled jobs and solving bottlenecks
* Scaling systems and processes as the team grows
The role is hectic - I will not lie to you. But you will have a genuinely amazing SLT that you'll be part of, and the owner is a down-to-earth & quite incredible man. They have really tenacious growth goals - nationally & internationally - and they're an industry leader.
Everything is modelled in 3D and they use Revit, (experience in Revit is helpful but a dealbreaker).
The office is based in Brisbane with flexibility around WFH, though this is definitely a leadership role where presence matters.
