Reporting to the Clinical Director of Medical Services (DMS) this role is responsible for providing effective day to day clinical management of both ambulatory and admitted patients/resident/clients within Colac Area Health whilst fulfilling Medical Board of Australia registration requirements.
You will be responsible for the day to day operations, ensuring high quality care is provided to patients and their families within applicable financial frameworks, budgetary constraints, quality standards and legislative requirements. This role is supported by an established nursing team which has created a positive and supportive environment.
As a Senior Medical Officer, your role will complement Supervising GP’s in providing medical care to our patients, supervision of Hospital Medical Officers, and working closely with group of clinicians. Depending on your areas of interests, you may be overseeing service delivery and/or training programs at Colac Area Health (CAH).
As our ideal candidate you will have at least:
* General registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with no restrictions.
* Fellows of clinical Colleges (RACGP, ACRRM, ACEM, or RNZCUC), or having completed postgraduate Emergency Medicine training (Emergency Medicine Certificate, EmergencyMedicine Diploma, Emergency Medicine Advanced Diploma equivalent).
* Critical Care, Emergency or Urgent Care clinical experience and competency for independent practice.
* Experience in the support and supervision of Junior Medical Staff.
