Description The Opportunity We have an exciting new opportunity for an MTX Design Lead to join our Wireless team on a full time permanent basis. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary project team of designers, engineers and project support team members, this role will primarily be to complete all Mobiles Transmission (MTX) designs for the addition of 4G and 5G technologies to new and existing sites. MTX design involves both front haul and backhaul transmission and will also require co-ordination and management of field related activities for Construction and As Built phases in order to ensure correct build as per MTX design. What we are looking for Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Australia with MTX designs; and minimum 7 years’ experience in Telecommunications network design and construction Experience in leading and developing MTX designers Expertise in Telstra MTX design process, systems, standards and requirements; including all DBoRs Broad range of product design and commissioning (SIU-02, R6672, OMC, PoE injectors) Small cell baseband units (e.g. Ericsson RBS6501 or Juni JL620) MLPPP design using Cisco ASR901 routers Optical path design through the network Ethernet/CPRI link design, including SFP types Expertise in the use of transmission planning tools such as Atoll and GIS tools Extensive understanding of mobile network Infrastructure, Transport features for LTE and 5G NR, OSI Layer 3 and Layer 4 protocols C-RAN (E-RAN) implementations for 5G Access Aggregation Point Routers to minimise network latency Database and programming or scripting skills (Python, Pearl, VBA, SQL, etc.) Understanding of SAED processes Knowledge of wireless networks in rail corridors, smart meters, IoT, mining and defence environments, as well as other private LTE networks What we offer Flexible working environment from any state in Australia Opportunity for career growth with structured frameworks and supportive-inclusive team Competitive Salary and Employee Benefits Valued and respected position, with supportive and experienced team Work for a major ASX-listed company About Energy & Utilities… Downer's Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, providing services and solutions that connect communities to essential networks and infrastructure.
