Hydraulic Engineer Position

The primary responsibility of the Hydraulic Engineer is to design, install, and maintain hydraulic systems in a workshop and on-site setting. The role involves performing repairs, testing, and troubleshooting of pumps, motors, and valves. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for building and assembling hydraulic power units, as well as onsite servicing of hydraulic systems.
Key tasks include:
* Repairing and testing hydraulic equipment, including pumps, motors, and valves;
* Designing and installing new hydraulic systems, including high-end proportional and servo-controlled pumps and valves;
* Troubleshooting and fault-finding on complex hydraulic systems;
* Providing technical support and training to colleagues and clients;
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydraulics, with experience in reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics. Excellent communication skills and the ability to write clear, concise reports are essential. A relevant trade qualification, such as Fitter and Turner or Diesel Fitter, is also required.
