OverviewJoin to apply for the Emergency Response Officer role at Nyrstar.Applications are invited for an experienced full-time Emergency Response Officer (ERO) within the Safety, Health and Hygiene Department.
Reporting directly to the Security & Emergency Principle, this role will provide emergency response, injury management and security services across the Nyrstar Smelter on a 4/4 continuous shift.
This role is residentially based in Port Pirie, South Australia.
Relocation support may be provided for the successful applicant.The purpose of the ERO team is to:Maintain appropriate site emergency response in compliance with Major Hazard Facility requirementsUndertake first response medical care for injured employeesUndertake activities in relation to fire response, fire response training, routine maintenance of fire protection systems and first aid inspectionsUndertake site security operations including site entrance control, data entry, inspections and reception skillsProvide technical advice for site fire, rescue, injury management, health and security operationsResponsibilitiesUndertake site security operationsRespond to all fire, rescue and hazardous materials emergencies onsiteUndertake fire response and fire response training activitiesUndertake first response medical care for work and non-work related injuriesOperate and maintain an industrial Health Care CentreConduct Drug and Alcohol Testing - scheduled and casualQualifications / Experience & AbilitiesEssential:HLT41115 Certificate IV Health Care or Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations)Current unrestricted Class C South Australian Drivers LicenseCurrent Security Agent license (South Australia) or the ability to obtainIntermediate computer skills including MS OfficeAble to maintain a high level of fitness to undertake the requirements of the roleDesirable:PUASAR032 Undertake vertical rescueUETTDRRF04 Perform Tower RescueCurrent Blue Maritime Security Identification CardRecognised venipuncture trainingWhat working for Nyrstar meansWe offer a career of challenge, reward and growth in a company focused on being a leader in our field.
