The Salary range for this position is currently $35 to $36 per hour, plus reimbursement of $0.96 per KM. Hourly rate is based on experience.

About this role
As a Senior Home Care Worker with Churches of Christ, you will provide compassionate, client-centered care to individuals in their homes. Your role involves assisting with daily activities, medication management, and promoting independence, all while upholding our Positive Wellbeing Model of Care. Additionally, you will mentor junior staff, contributing to a supportive and knowledgeable team environment.
This role offers variety and flexibility, with a combination of hands-on client support and office-based responsibilities. While much of your work will take place in the community, there will be times when you'll contribute to planning and coordination from our office. As a senior team member, you will also be available for on-call support as the need arises, ensuring that clients receive the highest standard of care when they need it most.
Our clients are at the heart of everything we do. To ensure they receive the highest standard of care, your reliability is crucial for maintaining regular shifts and providing coverage during both planned and unexpected absences.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver personal care services, including assistance with showering, dressing, and toileting.
* Assist clients with medication administration in compliance with relevant guidelines.
* Provide domestic support, such as meal preparation, ensuring adherence to food hygiene and safety standards.
* Offer social support by facilitating transport, aiding in social outings, and assisting with shopping.
* Participate in the review and documentation of client care plans, reporting any health changes to the Senior Service Team Leader or Registered Nurse.
* Train and mentor Home Care Workers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Perform office-based administrative tasks, including updating care plans, completing reports, and assisting with rostering as needed.

We are seeking a Senior Home Care Worker who is compassionate and understanding, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of our aging population. You will be a valued member of the team, working closely with and reporting to our very supportive Team Leaders and Service Manager as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of experience, skills, and personal attributes that align with our mission and values.
To be suitable for the position, ideally you have:
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing).
* Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
* Dedication to promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and quality care.
* Assist clients with medication Certificate - HLTHPS006
* Vehicle suitable for work purposes are essential for this role. (Reimbursement of $0.96 per KM is provided for use of own vehicle)
Possess or willingness to obtain;
* Up-to-date First Aid and CPR Certification
* A current National Police Certificate
