Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is the Queensland Government's land use planning and property development agency. EDQ embraces partnerships across government, industry and the community to create and invest in sustainable places for Queensland to proposer. EDQ is a self-funded commercialised business unit within the department and is responsible for delivering the objectives of the Economic Development Act 2012.
You will research, develop and deliver best practice strategic infrastructure planning policies, frameworks and procedures for the State's Priority Development Areas and broader state infrastructure planning
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Provide specialist and authoritative advice in identifying the infrastructure requirements/solutions and providing engineering infrastructure planning services
- Lead allocated projects or elements of projects
- Lead peer reviews and technical competency in all matters related to discipline expertise areas
- Actively contribute to building partnerships and manage ongoing relationships with a range of stakeholders, including local government, water utilities providers and other authorities to facilitate good development/ infrastructure outcomes
- Be able to adapt to and manage changing priorities and functional expectations and assist other officers in the team to cope with changing priorities and functional expectations.
You will have qualifications in geoscience or environmental engineering and be a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), with experience on major inner-city projects or environments. Post graduate qualifications in geoscience will be highly advantageous. You need to be able to demonstrate high-level skills as an individual and part of a senior management team, to shape strategic and operational thinking around complex problems and inspire a sense of purpose to ensure you will contribute to better outcomes for Queenslanders.
You must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills along with relevant tertiary professional qualifications. Finally, it goes without saying that you will be skilled in inspiring individuals and teams in the pursuit of excellence.
