Position Overview
The role focuses on the servicing, maintenance, repair and installation of fixed and mobile metal recycling equipment. This position requires a Fitter/Mechanic who can work on hydraulic, mechanical and LV electrical systems. With the ability to diagnose faults and return equipment to a serviceable condition. The company's range of equipment covers- demolition, metal and forestry recycling equipment. Responsibilities include:
* Pre-delivery, modifications, inspections, and installation/delivery of new equipment.
* Delivery and installations, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and breakdown support.
* Working on equipment with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults on equipment.
* On-site servicing, maintenance and occasional some interstate travel opportunities for equipment installations.
* Representing the company professionally at all times. Letting management know of any sales or work opportunities that could be developed.
* Fabrication and welding repairs, highly-regarded.
* Providing high-levels of professional customer service to a diverse range of customers. Assisting customers with their processing and handling equipment needs.
* Using your own initiative to plan, make arrangements and complete work with a minimum of supervision.
* Traveling interstate on occasion for installation of new equipment on site.
Key Requirements
* Trade-qualified Cert III Fitter, Cert III Plant Mechanic or similar.
* 5-years minimum experience working on mobile/fixed equipment that's diesel, electrically and/or hydraulically operated, ideally recycling/processing equipment or similar.
* Strong technical skills with the experience and ability to trace faults in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
* Computer literate with well-developed communication skills and a positive, helpful attitude.
* Flexible and willing to travel interstate on occasion, as required.
* Ability to manage own work, make work arrangements and comfortable to work autonomously at times.
* Comfortable dealing with customers and able to develop effective work relationships.
* Driver's license and Australian Citizenship/Permanent Residency - Essential.
