Mental Health Experienced Support Workers (Male & Female) – South of the River
We are expanding our team and are seeking mental health experienced male and female Support Workers to work across our SIL homes south of the river as well as supporting participants with community access South of the river. Areas include Rockingham, Wellard and other suburbs.
This role involves supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. Participants may present with verbal and physical aggression, as well as binge eating behaviours. Diagnoses may include Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, intellectual disability, and eating disorders.
We are looking for support workers who are confident, and experienced in managing challenging behaviours using a proactive and respectful approach. Despite the complexities, our participants are engaging and enjoyable to support. They have interests including music, dancing, op shopping, cars, fish, and birds. Building trust and maintaining consistency are key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities
* Providing personal care
* Supporting daily living tasks such as cooking and cleaning
* Facilitating structured community access
* Maintaining clear documentation and following behaviour support plans
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years' experience in disability support
* Demonstrated experience supporting participants with challenging behaviours
* Strong communication and boundary-setting skills
* Reliable, professional, and team-focused attitude
