About the Role
The Case Worker will work with the local prison community prior and post release.
Responsibilities
* Visit clients while they are incarcerated.
* Facilitate and run group sessions in a prison environment.
* Support client home visits in the Kalgoorlie area.
* Take clients back to their home community on release, up to 1500km away.
* Provide a high‐quality re‐entry service for clients exiting prisons.
* Ensure the objectives and outcomes of re‐entry funded programmes are achieved.
* Support the Program Manager and Team Leader to plan, implement, evaluate and co‐ordinate re‐entry services, including group education and information sessions.
* Provide outreach services to clients and their families across the Goldfields region.
* Participate in case management of clients with internal and external agencies.
* Provide referral services to clients.
* Leverage minimum 3 years of previous senior role experience to support staff and assist the team leader.
Selection Criteria
* Bachelor's or higher in Community Services, Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Aboriginal Studies or related disciplines.
* Highly experienced (minimum 3 years) in working positively with Aboriginal individuals, families and their communities, especially in remote locations of WA.
* Experience in casework and supporting access to social and other services.
* Experience in working with offenders.
* National Police Certificate within 12 months validity.
* Working with Children Card or eligibility to apply for one.
* WA Driver's licence and own vehicle for outreach purposes.
