Job Description
SGS has a great opportunity for a Geochemistry Laboratory Manager join team in Tennant Creek, NT. This is a FIFO opportunity from Perth. The roster is 2 weeks on 2 weeks off days only
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
* Keep clients informed on progress of samples and answer queries.
* Manage priorities and monitor progress to ensure timeliness and quality of results.
* Maintain appropriate staff levels and encourage enhancement of skills.
* Ensure adequate organisational structure is in place.
* Ensure staff training and records are kept.
* Responsible for quality and accuracy of results.
* Provide regular management and quality reports.
* Maintain Quality Management System and Laboratory Manuals.
* Ensure equipment is adequately maintained.
* Maintain and improve own knowledge to be able to contribute towards progression of the laboratory.
* Responsibility for P&L whilst working within a defined budget.
* Contribute to setting operating and capex budget
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
* Professional qualifications in chemistry or a related discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience
* Experience in geochemistry laboratory work and chemical knowledge
* Basic understanding of computer applications
* Experience in supervising staff
* Demonstrated experience in administration
* Competent in using CCLAS LIMS
* Knowledge of Company Quality Systems
* Basic business finance understanding
