Maternal Health Specialist Opportunity
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton seeks a skilled Maternal Health Specialist to provide high-quality care in the Women's Unit. This is a part-time and full-time opportunity for experienced midwives and nurses to collaborate with other health professionals and patients.
The successful candidate will deliver family-centred midwifery care, ensuring safe, efficient and effective patient management through care coordination, collaboration and communication within their scope of professional competence.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing comprehensive ante and postnatal assessments, developing and revising care plans that meet patients' physical, psychological, cultural and spiritual needs.
* Partnering with patients and their support persons throughout pregnancy and birth, providing woman-centred maternity care about personal and/or cultural needs and preferences.
* Monitoring maternal and fetal well-being, communicating effectively with other health professionals to ensure safe and high standards of care.
* Developing comprehensive discharge plans to support patients and their support persons with adequate resources and community services access.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will require:
* A current dual registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Midwife and Registered Nurse.
* Currency of neonatal resuscitation.
* Currency of K2 Perinatal Training through an approved provider.
* Postgraduate qualifications in relevant nursing and midwifery speciality or working towards (e.g. lactation consultant).
* Minimum one year of postgraduate experience, including in birth suites.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles.
