The role: We are looking for experienced and passionate staff members to provide support to children and young people involved within the Out-of-Home-Care Sector. The role will involve supporting children and young people in various stages of their lives and in various settings including therapeutic residental care, sibling groups, supported independent living, young people with disability, community and in-home supports, emergency supports, respite, transportation and early intervention. Staff will be required to utilise and implement therapeutic, trauma-informed practices to ensure positive outcomes for all children and young people receiving services. We are looking for people who are adaptable, flexible, experienced and dedicated to creating systemic change in the lives of the children and young people we support. Staff will be required to work across a 24/7 roster inclusive of morning, afternoon, and active-night shifts. Shifts may vary in length between 3 hours to 8 hours. The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive onboarding from the Capability team, as well as complete robust training in our therapeutic models, to ensure you are equipped to complete the role. Engagement with supervision, training & development Supporting children and young people through crisis situations and trauma-related behaviours. Implementing client specific protocols to ensure high-quality supports Supporting children and young people with daily care tasks and household tasks Mentoring and role-modeling pro-social behaviour to children and young people Demonstrate and model high ethics and standards, following all Capability policies, procedures and values The requirements: Minimum certificate IV in a relevant field, or, actively studying to obtain. Prior experience supporting clients from backgrounds of trauma, disability or complex behaviours. High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to think and respond quickly and appropriately to situations. Excellent literacy and writing skills Blue Card (or ability to obtain one) Valid police check (or willingness to undertake one) Valid Australian Drivers License Appropriate Working Rights in Australia Current First Aid & CPR Qualifications (or ability to obtain) Reliable, Comprehensively Insured Motor Vehicle (Compulsory) Capability encourages applications from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders, or those with lived experience with disability or out-of-home care.
