About the role
Become our Senior Baker at Common Bakery on Carrington, Nedlands, Western Australia. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity to lead our baking team and create delicious artisanal breads for our loyal customers. As an experienced baker, you will play a pivotal part in upholding our commitment to using premium ingredients and traditional techniques to bake high-quality products.
What you'll be doing
1. Oversee the daily operations of the bakery and lead the baking team
2. Develop new bread and pastry recipes to expand our product range
3. Ensure consistently high standards of baking quality and presentation
4. Train and mentor junior bakers to improve their skills
5. Maintain a clean and organised work environment
6. Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to understand customer preferences
7. Monitor stock levels and place orders for ingredients
What we're looking for
1. A seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a artisan baker/chef
2. Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and food safety regulations.
3. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities to oversee a busy bakery
4. Experience in high-volume commercial setting producing a full range of savory and sweet baked goods is a significant advantage
5. Passion for creating high-quality artisanal baked goods
6. Effective leadership and mentoring skills to develop a skilled baking team
7. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
