About Us
ACT Lung and Sleep is an established and busy private practice of three specialists in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, also providing RespACT lung function testing. We pride ourselves on offering compassionate service, efficient care, and a welcoming environment for our patients.
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role has become available as our long-term staff member is graduating from university and as our clinic continues to grow.

Hours and Availability
* hours per week
* Most likely rostered on Wednesdays and Fridays Full day (8:30am – 5:00pm)
* Must also be available to cover staff leave in October (full-time hours)
Our reception is run by two staff: one manages RespACT Lung Function emails and the other manages ACT Lung and Sleep emails. During busy periods, you will support each other. You'll be trained and supported by experienced colleagues to ensure you feel confident in the role.

Key Responsibilities
* Welcoming patients and managing check-ins/check-outs
* Scheduling and confirming appointments for our specialists and RespACT lung function testing using Gentu practice management software
* Answering phones and responding to patient enquiries
* Processing Medicare, DVA, and private health claims
* Managing patient records, referrals, and correspondence
* Processing payments and daily receipt reconciliation
* Following practice policies and procedures
* Opening and closing the clinic

About You
* Minimum 1 year of experience in either a GP clinic or specialist practice (essential)
* Experience with Gentu (or similar practice management systems) highly regarded
* Strong customer service and administrative skills, with healthcare experience preferred
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to multitask in a busy environment
* A caring and professional attitude towards patients
* Dependable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility
* Reliable and committed to your rostered days
* Able to step in when extra cover is required
