Key Responsibilities
- Works under minimal supervision to perform residential and/or light commercial service and maintenance calls
- Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves customer problems in a courteous, professional, timely, and accurate manner
- Diagnoses and performs services on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment as well as accessories
- Inspects equipment and performs diagnostics to identify potential problems to prevent breakdowns or callbacks
- Completes routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed
- Delivers and removes parts and equipment needed to complete service work
- Records information on a handheld device and processes forms, paperwork, and payments
- Communicates with dispatch to provide an accurate status of activities and availability
- Delivers excellent customer service and maintains high customer satisfaction
- Promotes products and services; provides leads for replacement product sales
- Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are used and maintained properly
- Represents the company professionally, ethically, and in compliance with procedures
- Follows standard procedures and maintains stocked company vehicles
- Performs similar/other duties as needed
Health & Safety Roles and Responsibilities
- Reports unsafe acts, conditions and hazards to the supervisor
- Complies with company safety programs and uses PPE as prescribed
- Maintains safety devices and follows applicable laws and procedures
- Participates in safety initiatives and reports injuries or incidents promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2 to 5 years’ experience in HVAC and technical training
- Valid licensing or certification as required by local laws
- EPA and safety certifications required
- Skilled at servicing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment
- Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems
- Ability to start up and balance airflow and align belts/pulleys with minimal supervision
- Proficient at installing basic duct fittings
- Experience with electronic air cleaners, refrigeration systems, boilers, humidifiers, etc.
- Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Flexible hours and on-call availability
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and access confined spaces; capable of lifting up to 75 pounds
