Dynamic Rural Psychiatry Role
We are seeking a dedicated psychiatrist with an interest in rural and Indigenous mental health. This is a permanent, full-time role providing community and inpatient care to consumers from rural areas, including Palm Island.

* Lead and manage medical services across hospital, community, and outreach settings.
* Specialise in Adult Mental Health Services for rural consumers.
Salary and Benefits
The remuneration package comprises a base salary range of $210,332 - $266,677 p.a., recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%). Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary), regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary), motor vehicle allowance ($21,000 - $25,500 p.a.), professional development allowance ($21,500 + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave), private practice arrangements, communications package, professional indemnity cover, and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable).
About the Role
As a Staff Specialist – Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide leadership and expertise in adult mental health services, working in a collegial multidisciplinary team setting with strong peer and operational support. The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Psychiatry recognised by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and current registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
