BLACKROC is excited to be partnering with a major government organisation to recruit a Systems Administrator on a contract till 30th June 2026. This role is part of a critical cyber uplift project, focusing on patching, vulnerability remediation and system hardening across diverse platforms.
Role Purpose
You will support the remediation of cyber vulnerabilities across enterprise systems, working across servers, workstations, mobile devices and IoT technologies. This is a hands-on role ideal for a seasoned systems administrator with strong security experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Remediate and mitigate vulnerabilities through patching, configuration updates and upgrades
* Manage end-to-end vulnerability remediation, including planning, change control, testing and rollout
* Develop automated patching strategies aligned to ACSC Essential 8
* Implement automated patching systems across OS and application stacks
* Use Group Policy, Intune, Azure Update Manager and scripting to remediate vulnerabilities across diverse devices
Required Skills & Experience
* 5+ years in System Administration, IT Operations or equivalent
* Experience across Windows Server, AD, SQL clusters, VMware ESX, Group Policy, Commvault, mobile and IoT devices
* Experience configuring and managing Intune and Azure Update Manager
* Familiarity with Linux
* Understanding of ITIL or similar frameworks
* Recent vulnerability management experience within large enterprise/government
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
