Overview
The primary function of the Junior Accountant/Bookkeeper is to work directly with the Admin team to professionally and effectively undertake the accounting/finance function within the dealership, ensuring that the internal business objectives, external reporting and compliance objectives are achieved.
Key job functions & Accountabilities
* General ledger reconciliations as directed by Financial Controller
* Monthly GST Reporting Requirements
* Lease Schedule Update & Reconciliation
* Daily Bank Statement Entry and Reconciliation
* Perform daily vehicle floorplan Payouts & Bailments
* Assist in administering Dealership OHS requirements
* Regular review of Vehicle Debtors, Invoice & EFT coding & approval
* Review & Reconciliation of Toyota manufacturer claims
* Completion of Daily Cashflow spreadsheet
* Liaise with various managers and staff to resolve issues or queries that may arise
* Review and code internal charges
* Assist to resolve minor IT issues that may arise from time to time
* Assist with dealership insurance claims and completion of FC Dashboard
* Assist with completion of monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
* Assist with End of Month tasks and journals, Year End Accounts and pack
* Assist in Annual parts stock take
* Assist the Financial Controller to maintain all facets of the administration department including creditors, debtors, new and used vehicles, payroll, cash flow, end of month, financial statements and the like
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience
* Proficient use in Excel & Tune (or equivalent DMS)
* High Attention to Detail
* Ability to problem solve
* Sound business acumen
* Excellent interpersonal skills with clear and professional verbal communications
* Accounting experience within the Automotive Dealership
* Bachelor Degree in Commerce or Business is desirable but not required
