Bechtel is providing project and contract management services to Western Power on the Clean Energy Link Project – North Project. The project will strengthen the existing power network north of Perth to ensure it can connect and transport a greater supply of renewable energy to meet decarbonisation objectives. This involves upgrading the current mix of 132 kV and 330 kV lines in parts of the northern network. We are looking for people to join us on this exciting capital works program within an integrated team with our customer.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non‐routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.
Major Responsibilities:
* Responsible for cost estimating, analysis, and control activities for projects with significant non‐routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill
* Analyze to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges
* Develop and implement project requirements for cost control in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures
* Ensure work is completed as scheduled, supporting project organizational and administrative activities
* Prepare cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons
* Review identified cost trends for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives when appropriate
* Maintain open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Demonstrated expertise in managing cost engineering functions, including cost estimation, cost control, and cost analysis, both onsite and within the home office. Proven ability to establish comprehensive criteria for Project Controls activities.
* Exhibits strong oral and written communication skills, with a proven track record of presenting cost engineering information effectively to management and clients.
* Adept at identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex problems.
